Slavery is not simply a thing of the past, it is a scourge of the present in the form of human trafficking. It’s victims are found predominantly among the weakest and youngest members of our global community. That slavery still exists today is almost incomprehensible. We who have known the sting of oppression bear a special responsibility to work for the freeing of the enslaved and the comforting of the oppressed. This Passover, as you remember your time as a slave in Egypt, consider what you can do to end slavery in our own day.
